happy list from the weekend that was

I’ve decided to take stock of little things that have been keeping me happy. There’s nothing like the power of positive thoughts to attract more positive thoughts. I wallowed in my little happy pool on the weekend, which mainly consisted of:

1. Dinner with an old friend (Kaith to be more specific). it was fun to catch up and just talk.
Pictures from the dinner.

2.Late, late night deep converations about nothing and everthing. I went to cy’s house after dinner and ended up staying until 3:30 am.
3.Downloaded shows (I’m currently downloading top chef, the rachel zoe project, and project runway, with jason’s help of course)
4.Room revamp- My saturday afternoon and night was spent at home, rearranging my room, after I was inspired by Cybill’s new and pristine one! I’m really happy with the way mine turned out- all “hotelly” and shiz haha, I just need a flat screen tv (any cheapo one will do)
5.Online shopping- i think i need to stop rambling about the merits of forever21 and elf to just about everyone i meet.
6.Coffee with Sheila- i love how this random thing has become a mini-ritual for both of us. It’s simple- we meet up to have coffee and mainly vent about everything and anything.

Sure, I still constantly lust about this bag, or those pair of shoes, or this perosn’s life, and I will forever keep on wishing for some things (for jason and i to just be together really), but its nice to see what things i have going for me too. :)

This week has passed by in a blur. I’ve literally been scrambling, trying to catch up with work! When you’re stressed, it may be easy to just forget about everything except, well, stress, but I’m glad this exercise sort of forces me to really examine my life, and see that despite all the hecticness (is that even a word?), there is still a lot to be thankful for. Here’s my list!

1. Paypal ruled a dispute in my favor. So I got some of my money back! There’s one more dispute to go and I’m hoping that goes in my favor.

2.Lunch with Cy! I’ve missed having lunch with a friend, I don’t think I’ve done it for a long time. It’s highly underrated because people would rather go for the loud, nois meals with big groups instead. Sometimes, it’s nice to just have a one on one.

3.Yummy ham and cheese empanada from a house guest. I’ve been having 1 for breakfast the last 3 days I think.

4.The art of just letting an arguement go. I tried it with Jason and it was nice. No drama and yelling and crying, just talking things out and then getting along again.

5.Adrenaline. I’ve had to rely on that a lot the past week to get to through everything, and you know what, I really did get through them, so yay!

6.Impromptu (and free!) spa sessions. This one I owe to Katsy, although I owe her an article too :p

7.Perfect Christmas presents for particular people just popping up. One down, 457 to go? :p

8.my mom’s cooking. i love her desserts :)

9.Mini-fiesta celebrations

10.I think it’s safe to say I’m not sick anymore! Yay! let’s hope this lasts a long, long time!

11.Junjun’s (our gardener) amazing DIY skills. My vision board now has a really nice frame.

Thank you, thank you! :)

Thank You 12/1

Dear Universe,

Ironically, I didn’t get to my thank yous on time on thanksgiving weekend, of all days! It’s just that I was having a kinda shitty sunday (you should know), so I didn’t particularly feel grateful. However, I am always reminded that I am better off than so many others and for this, I must say thank you.

For the last week, I am grateful for:

1.Christmas bazaars- they always make me so happy because of…

2.Christmas Bazaar pastries- we got food for the gods, Chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon cookies, peanut butter cookies, polvoron and everything was really yummy! We also got some ham, although that’s not realy a pastry, that we have yet to try!

3.For a really nice sunday lunch at Oh Georg- for some reason, this Sunday’s meal was especially happy and satisfying!

4.Polyvore- its been a good distraction and creative outlet

5.A spoiler boyfriend- Again, monthsary was love! I loved my gifts

6.perfect gifts for people hard to shop for that just mysteriously pop up! I’m done with shoping thanks to these! yay!

7.Good opportunities that go only to be replaced by better ones.

8.Mature realisations that were needed.

9.Being proactive

10.Admitting to hurt feelings and letting go.

11.Acceptance.

12. Marth Stewart and Oprah

Thank you! :)

It’s already December! Whoooaaaa! Christmas and my baby will be here before I know it! I’m also excited to see my friend L, I hope I see her!

xx
